Dr. Mellissa Mullin Veterinarian
Dr. Mellissa Mullin is thrilled to be joining Companion Animal Hospital after nearly 20 years as an associate veterinarian in the Wake Forest community.
Dr. Mullin is originally from the north suburbs of Chicago where she completed her degrees in biology and art history, as well as an internship at the Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio museum. She came to North Carolina after completing her veterinary degree at Auburn University in Auburn, AL.
Dr. Mullin has been obsessed with taking care of animals from a very young age and knew from age 5 she would love nothing more than to be a veterinarian. She is an accomplished general practitioner, skilled in both surgery and medicine, passionate about preventative health care and wellness for patients of all ages, and is highly experienced at helping owners navigate and understand complex health issues with their pets. Her compassion is reflected in her patient care, communication with owners and connection with both patients and their owners.
Outside of work Dr. Mullin stays very busy with her three amazing daughters and a houseful of rescue animals that currently include three dogs, three cats, a bearded dragon and a three-legged box turtle.
She is a strong advocate for disability awareness and education rights, volunteers with GiGi’s Playhouse (Down Syndrome achievement and awareness center in Cary, NC), and loves the resources the Triangle area provides for youth and adults with disabilities.
When she’s not with her daughters, out on a run, or walking the dogs, she may be found reading a good book, planning a new travel adventure, or enjoying time with her fabulous friends and family.
